VAGFans – Fur die Liebe von VAG
Vagfans.com is a South African based website created by a group of local motoring enthusiasts. The site initially kicked off as a Blog providing the latest news, but later created a Forum on which enthusiasts around the world could share their passion.
So what exactly is a VAGFan?
Well, strictly speaking the ‘VAG’ part is an acronym for Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, or Volkswagen AG. But we’ve chosen to rather focus on the key marques within South Africa – namely Volkswagen and Audi – so the VAG part of our name stands for the Volkswagen Audi Group. But don’t let that fool you, it’s not all about Golf’s, Jetta’s and S3’s. The group is actually a subsidiary of Porsche. And along with VW, includes other marques such as Audi, Seat, Lamborghini, Bentley, Bugatti, and Skoda. So it’s much more inclusive than you think. The ‘Fan’ part needs little explanation, and although we’ve chosen the word, we admit it is something of an understatement. You see, VAGFans live, eat and dream all things VAG. We’re enthusiasts, aficionados, and fanatics.
Like our pay-off line states, albeit in German, everything we do is ‘for the love of VAG’. The site aims to provide the latest global content, which is always unbiased, fair and accurate. Apart from the news, we offer fellow enthusiasts a platform to share their insights and opinions via our dedicated Forums.
Key areas of the site include ‘The Lounge’ where members can socialize and interact, the ‘Autowasche’ section reserved for vehicle cleaning and maintainance, the ‘Experts’ section hosting advice and opinions from industry leaders, and ‘Members Rides’ with pics and personal reviews on styling and modifications to owner’s cars. The popular ‘Marketplace’ is where you can find that rare piece of kit you’ve been looking for or where you can get rid of something you no longer need. The piece de resistance is our ‘Tech Talk’ section, offering advice, articles, case studies, and DIY articles for VAG enthusiasts. Presently, the section focuses on the most popular VAG products in South Africa, but will soon also be extending to include exotics.
So what makes us different from other motoring enthusiast sites and clubs? Well, like Volkswagen AG, which includes so many other mainstream and exotic marques, we’re not just about a single brand. We’re an all-inclusive broader offering catering to everyone from the humble Citi Golf driver to the privileged Bugatti Veyron owner. We’re a club run by fans, for other fans.
